The Chichu Art Museum (地中美術館, Chichū Bijutsukan) (literally 'art museum in the earth') is a museum built directly into a southern portion of the island of Naoshima in Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. It was designed by architect Tadao Ando and opened to the public on July 18, 2004.

We spent the whole of Tuesday in Naoshima, going to ChiChu, LiUfan, Benesse, and also saw the outdoor sculptures by Miyanoura port. The next morning, we went to Honmura to visit all six of the art projects (in restored and transformed old houses) as well as the Ando Museum before leaving Naoshima at lunch time.

The Chichu Art Museum, with a surface of 2,500 square meters, establishes the site's touristic and cultural facet. Chichu means 'within the earth', and the museum galleries - embedded in a hilly site - custody the works of just three artists: the Impressionist Claude Monet and the contemporary artists Walter De Maria and James Turrell.
